tiān天ㄊㄧㄢyì翼ㄧˋ / Nick Lovell

I'm Nick. 天翼 in Mandarin. Software engineer at a bank in New York. I ran a Taiwanese beef noodle soup pop-up called Luo's Family Noodle Shop out of my apartment in Astoria. It's paused at the moment.

I studied Mandarin in Taiwan for a while and keep studying it on Saturdays in Flushing. It's getting there. I speak some Japanese, mostly at grocery stores. Before this I worked on conversational AI at a language learning startup. Before that, computer science and linguistics at Michigan.

I've been able to travel to quite a lot of places (35+ countries!), and when I can't travel, I host couchsurfers at my home. I played jazz saxophone and the drums, which I also studied for some time. I am currently working on getting a Taiwan Gold Card.

This site is where I put things. Some entries are in Japanese, some in English, some about code, some about food. I don't separate them because they aren't separate. I hope you enjoy your time here.

我是 Nick，中文名字叫天翼。目前在紐約的一家銀行擔任軟體工程師。 我曾在 Astoria 的公寓裡經營過一家叫「駱家麵館」的台灣牛肉麵快閃店。目前暫停營業中。

我曾在台灣學過一陣子中文，現在每週六在法拉盛（Flushing）繼續上課。慢慢有在進步了。我也會說一點日文，不過通常只有在逛超市時才會用到。 在這之前，我在一家語言學習新創公司做對話式 AI。再之前，則是在密西根大學讀資訊工程與語言學。

我去過不少地方旅行（超過 35 個國家！），沒出遠門的時候，我就會在家裡接待沙發客。我吹爵士薩克斯風也打鼓，這兩樣樂器我都學過一段時間。我目前正在申請台灣的就業金卡。

這個網站是我放各種紀錄的地方。有些文章是日文，有些是英文；有些關於程式，有些關於食物。我沒有把它們分開來，因為它們本來就密不可分。希望你會喜歡這裡。
